Been busy for a while.

Sí, increíblemente sigo vivo. O al menos por ahora. Desde el 2 de noviembre que no publicaba una entrada nueva y por la sencilla razón de que en toda mi vida he estado tan ocupado. Y no es que muchas cosas ocupen mi tiempo, sino que sencillamente tan sólo un par de ellas lo hacen: el último año de Instituto y por lo tanto la preparación para el Selectivo, y el ballet, que me ayuda a evadirme un poco de lo primero.

Yes, although it's hard to believe, I'm still alive. By now. I haven't updated the blog since November 2nd because of  the simple reason that I've never been this busy. The truth is it's not because of a lot of things that I'm busy, but just a couple of things are the ones which are keeping me like that: Senior year and "Selectividad", and the ballet, which helps me to escape from the first, though.

Estoy muy centrado en mis estudios últimamente para poder entrar en una buena Universidad. Es verdad que aunque en un principio mi idea era la de irme a EEUU a estudiar al terminar el Instituto, he decidido quedarme en España, en particular, en Barcelona, desde la cual espero abrirme camino para irme al extranjero.

I've been very focused on my studies lately, so I can get into a good University. It is true that although at first I was thinking of studying in the US once I finished High School, I changed my mind and I've decided to stay in Spain, specifically in Barcelona, from which I hope to find my way to study abroad. 

No puedo prometer pasarme por aquí más a menudo, puesto que me resulta muy difícil compaginarlo todo, pero sí es verdad que no me he rendido con esto de plasmar mi estilo de vida aquí. He de recordar que "envíame cartas" nació como mi propio diario de moda y seguirá así. Todos seguís estando invitados a seguirlo, como siempre.

I cannot promise I'm going to stop by here more often, since It's hard to me to combine all. Anyways, it is true that I'm not giving up with this thing of capturing my lifestyle here. I have to remind you all that "envíame cartas" (lit: "send me letters") was born as my own fashion diary and it'll continue being like that. You all are still being invited to follow it, as It's always been. 

¡Espero veros pronto y contaros más! Quedan muchas cosas que dejar por escrito aquí y no me gustaría dejarlas pasar. También me gustaría desearos un feliz año nuevo.

I hope to see you soon and tell you more! There are still lots of things to write down here and I wouldn't like to let them go. I'd also like to wish you a happy new year.

III Encuentro de Bloggers de moda Pontus Veteris.

Una temporada más la pasarela pontevedresa Pontus Veteris tomará lugar en el Recinto Ferial de Pontevedra y será la próxima semana, el miércoles 2 de noviembre.

Los diseñadores Florentino, Olga Santoni, Miguel de Lune y Boüret Atelier se subirán este miércoles a la pasarela para presentar sus colecciones primavera/verano 2012 y, por tercer año consecutivo, la revista Galicia de Moda y la Cámara de Comercio de Pontevedra celebrará el encuentro del bloggers al que, como podréis recordar, asistí el pasado año en su primera celebración donde pasé una tarde increíble al lado de magníficos bloggers. 

Como en los pasados encuentros, los bloggers invitados tendremos una zona VIP donde poder trabajar para nosotros y visitas al back stage donde se nos concederán algunas entrevistas. Además, como ya hice la vez pasada, instalaré aquí un panel de seguimiento para todos vosotros, disponible a partir de esa misma tarde (alrededor de las 16:30h), y, además, podréis hacer el seguimiento vía Twitter y Facebook. ¡No os lo perdáis!

Nos vemos la semana que viene, con el seguimiento online de la pasarela Pontus Veteris primavera/verano 2012.

Back from Belgium.

Bélgica es tranquilamente uno de los países más curiosos en los que estado y de los que mejor me he llevado buena impresión. Si tuviese que definirla hablaría de frío, arte, chocolate y gofres, aunque eso resultaría demasiado objetivo. Y si añadimos la extraña adoración que siento por la lengua francesa y por comunicarme, mejor que mejor. Aquí os dejo mi paso por la capital de Europa.

Belgium is without doubts one of the most intriguing countries I've been to and also one of the most impressive places. If I had to describe it, I'd tell chill, art, chocolate and waffles, although It'd be too objective. And If we add the strange adoration I feel for French and communication, the better. So here I let you my time in the capital of Europe.

Next Stop: Brussels, Bruges and Ghent cities.

Lo sé. Últimamente envíame cartas sólo trata de mis viajes, pero pronto prometo meterme mucho más dentro del mundo de la moda. Ya lo echaba mucho de menos. Tan fuera he estado que tan sólo he podido chequear un par de presentaciones de colección primavera/verano 2012 en las semanas de la moda. Sin embargo, como alguien alguna vez dijo: El mundo es como un libro abierto, quien no viaje sólo ha leído la primera página. 

I know. Envíame cartas only talks about traveling so lately, but I promise (I'm always promising) going through fashion stuff soon. I missed it, actually. I've been so out that I only could check a couple of Fashion Weeks' spring/summer 2012 collections. Nevertheless, as somebody said once: The world is like an open book, the one who does not travel has only read the first page.

Mañana sábado día 15 cogeré un avión de camino al país/capital europeo, Bélgica. Estaré allí 5 días, en los que visitaré la propia ciudad, Brujas y Gante.

Tomorrow Saturday 15th I'm taking the European capital/country, Belgium. I'm spending 5 days there, where I'm visiting Brussels, Bruges and Ghent.

En Bruselas visitaré además, gracias a una selección por nivel académico llevada a cabo por mi instituto, el Parlamento Europeo, probando el nuevo proyecto de visitas Parlamentarium, museo donde se podrá recorrer la historia del Parlamento y de la UE a través de una exposición dirigido a los ciudadanos de la Unión y que estará disponible a partir de hoy mismo, 14 de octubre.

In Brussels I'm visiting as well, and thanks to a grades selection by my High School, the European Parliament, trying the new visiting project called Parlamentarium, a museum where you'll be able to explore the history of Parliament and EU through an expo to citizens of the Union and that'll be open from today October 14th.

Summer 2011: New York City 2 + Steve

Como prometí hace ya dos semanas, aquí está la segunda y última entrada sobre mi tiempo en Nueva York. Echando una mirada atrás, esos días quedan ya tan lejos para mí, que me entristece, aunque nunca podré olvidar todo lo que aprendí allí ni a las personas tan increíbles -sí, me repito- que conocí.

As I promised two weeks ago, here's the second and last post about New York. Looking back in the time, those days look so far to me that makes me sad, although, I won't never be able to forget everything I learnt there nor the amazing people -yes, here I go again- I met.

Cuando caminas por primera vez por la Ciudad, todo es demasiado abrumador. Una ciudad tan grande, tantas cosas que hacer, tantos sitios que visitar. Estando en el Upper West Side, lo primero por lo que optas es por ir a Central Park y cruzar hasta el East Side y pasearte por la 5ª Avenida, típico. Luego te das cuenta de que Times Square está a cinco pasos y tienes que ir.

The first time you wander about the City, everything is so overwhelming. A city so big, with so many things to do, so many places to visit. Being on the Upper West Side, the first that comes to your head is going to Central Park and going through it to take the East Side and wander about 5ª Ave, typical. Then you realize Times Square is only five steps away and you've to get there.

Para terminar con la entrada de hoy, me gustaría mostrar mi tristeza por la muerte de uno de los genios más grandes que ha visto la historia: Steve Jobs, cofundador de Apple. Apple ha sido posible gracias a este señor y ello implica tener a nuestra mano la última tecnología. El Imperio de la manzana no va a ser lo mismo sin él presentando Keynotes o ideando nuevos productos, pero, por lo menos, seguirá ahí, dejándonos boquiabiertos una y otra vez con sus productos. 

To finish with this post, I'd like to show my sadness because of one of the most amazing geniuses the history has ever seen's death: Steve Jobs, Apple cofounder. Apple's been possible thanks to this man and that implies having last technology in our hands. The apple Empire is not gonna be the same without him presenting keynotes or creating new products, but, at least, It won't never die, amazing us over and over again with its products.

Summer 2011: New York City

Nueva York. Todo lo que os digan de ella es verdad. Edificios vertiginosos, increíbles avenidas, gente amabilísima y un parque central kilométrico. Todo eso entre muchas más y destacables características. Mis 5 semanas en la Gran Manzana han sido sin duda 5 de las mejores semanas de toda mi vida. 

New York. Everything they told you about it is true. Huge buildings, breathtaking avenues, the nicest people and a kilometric Central Park. My 5 weeks in the Big Apple have been -with no doubt- 5 of the best weeks in my whole life. 

No he actualizado el blog desde que allá por el 25 de junio me despedía de España para escaparme al otro lado del charco. Es ahora, después de uno de los mejores veranos, que he decidido tomármelo como sabático, cuando vuelvo a escribir totalmente descansado y con ganas de recopilar todos los recuerdos de este magnífico verano 2011.

I haven't updated since June 25th when I said good-bye to Spain to escape to the other side of the pond. It's now, after enjoying one of the most amazing summers, which I took as a sabbatical one, when I start writing here totally relaxed and looking forward to collect every single memory from this awesome summer 2011.

Las 5 semanas en mi retiro neoyorquino no han sido lo que dice unas vacaciones puesto que, como muchos de vosotros sabréis, asistí becado a un curso de verano internacional impartido por la Escuela del Ballet Americano. La gente con la que compartí allí la experiencia ha sido gente que nunca podré olvidar. Personas increíbles compartiendo un mismo interés formando el mejor de los ambientes. Sinceramente, inolvidable.

My 5 weeks of this retreat in New York haven't been a holiday at all, because, as many of you may know, I attended the School of American Ballet International Summer Course with a scholarship. People I've shared this experience with are unforgettable. They've been so amazing by sharing the same interest while making up the best of the atmospheres. Sincerely, unbelievably unforgettable.


¿Y qué puedo decir de Nueva York? No tendría palabras suficientes para describir aquello (más bien porque no me apetece mucho extenderme demasiado para que luego aparezcan un montón de palabras casi sin sentido y, por lo tanto, ilegibles por vuestra parte), aunque lo único que puedo confiar es que necesito volver allí muy pronto.

What can I say about New York? Well, I'd have no enough words to describe that (rather because I don't wanna write a bunch of almost meaningless and so illegible words for you), though, the only thing I can tell is that I really need to go back there very soon.

No obstante, no quiero descubriros todo ahora mismo y en tan sólo una entrada, por lo que lo iré actualizando cada semana con un recuerdo de este verano hasta bien entrado el otoño, donde ya volveré a comentar toda la actualidad.

However, I don't want to show you up everything in only a post, so I'll keep updating every week with memories of this summer 'till well into fall, when I'll care more about topicality.

Una vez más, disculpad por todo el tiempo que he estado sin actualizar y muchísimas gracias por seguir ahí.

Once again, I'm sorry about all the time I've been without updating and thank you very much for being there.
